Whether AIG was able to con a woman with Alzheimer's into a $18.95 monthly debit is not the problem. A company cannot access a persons account without written authorization. The bank should have researched the matter and found a document with the woman's signature authorizing the debits. It's cut and dry, if there is not a signature provided by the company to the bank, the entire amount must be refunded. Although AIG is supremely evil, their crookedness would have had to be two pronged with a phone call and a letter needing a signature for this debit to occur.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
